A Stress-Free Way To Celebrate Big Moments
We know how much work it can be to plan a birthday party—and how much you want it to feel special without becoming overwhelming. At Hansel Hill Farm, we’ve thought through the details so you don’t have to. From the moment you arrive, we want you to feel like you can breathe, smile, and actually enjoy the day.
Whether your child wants to snuggle goats, ride on a tractor-pulled hayride, or simply run wild with friends in the fresh air, we provide a beautiful, well-run setting where birthday magic feels easy and natural—for kids and parents.
We welcome guests of any age, but most of our parties are geared toward kids 12 and under. That said, we’re happy to help you shape a celebration that fits any stage of life.
What’s Included
Every party includes full access to the magic of the farm. Guests will enjoy a private hayride, time with our animals, and use of our covered pavilion—complete with tables, chairs, a fire pit, bathrooms, and trash service.
The birthday child also receives a special Hansel Hill shirt to mark the occasion, and every party comes with built-in breathing room: 30 minutes before and after your reserved time for setup and cleanup.
Optional Add-Ons
If you’re looking to add a little extra sparkle to the day, we have several optional upgrades to personalize your party. These are entirely up to you—some families love to keep things simple, while others go all out with snacks for the animals and hands-on party crafts.
Some favorites include marshmallow roasting by the fire, farm-themed take-home activities, or letting guests feed treats to the goats, pigs, and rabbits. You can even add a dozen freshly collected eggs to your basket or fire up the grill for a cookout-style celebration.
We also partner with Vocelli’s Pizza in Crofton, who offer Hansel Hill families 30% off when you call 240-320-5387 and mention your farm party. It’s a great way to keep things easy and delicious.

Space Options & Pricing
We offer three simple options to fit your needs:
You’ll have a private party area, but another family may be celebrating at the same time on the opposite side of the farm.
The entire farm is yours during your reserved time slot. Ideal for larger gatherings.
All packages include up to 15 children (babies, parents, and the birthday child aren’t counted). Additional children are welcome at $10 each.
Payment Policy & Options
To reserve your spot for any Hansel Hill Farm event (whether it’s a birthday party, school visit, scout overnight, or seasonal celebration) payment in full is required at the time of booking. If you would like to establish a payment plan, please contact us here.
Refund Policy
Life happens, and we understand plans sometimes change. Here’s how refunds work:
100% refund if canceled 30 days or more before your scheduled event
50% refund if canceled 14–29 days before your event
25% refund if canceled 5–13 days before your event
No refund if canceled 4 days or less before your event
If you need to reschedule due to an emergency, we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Weather Policy
We love welcoming guests to the farm year-round, and most events are rain or shine. After all, animals still need feeding and fun still happens in boots! In addition, our pavilion provides excellent coverage in case of light rain, and most kids don’t mind a little mud! If severe weather makes the farm unsafe, we’ll work with you to reschedule. If that’s not possible, a refund will be offered.
However, safety is always our priority.
In the event of extreme weather (including heavy rain, high winds, or nearby lightning or thunder), we will work with you to reschedule your event or issue a full refund.
If both your party and the farm team agree that the weather poses a significant issue, a mutually agreed-upon cancellation will qualify for a 100% refund.
For birthday parties and private group events, we always offer the option to select a preferred rain date at booking, and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate that if needed.
Parking & Arrival
You’re welcome to drive up to the pavilion to unload your supplies. Guests can park in the adjacent Anne Arundel County school field next to the farm—just be sure everyone parks single file, as it’s the only authorized area for parking. If you need special parking accommodations, please let us know.

Birthday Parties: FAQs

Most parties last two hours, with 30 minutes on each end for setup and cleanup. Kids typically start with a visit with the animals (45-60 minutes), with the hayride acting as a transition activity from the animals to the pavilion for the celebration. We’ll work with you to structure the flow however you like.

We’ve got you covered—literally. Our pavilion keeps guests dry during light rain. If severe weather is in the forecast and makes the party unsafe, we’ll work with you to reschedule or refund your deposit if needed.

Yes! You’re welcome to bring anything you’d like: food, drinks, cake, balloons, lawn games, music—whatever makes your child’s day feel special. We provide tables, tablecloth clips and chairs, so you’ll have a space to set everything up.

We’re nearby to answer questions and guide your hayride or animal time, but the rest of the event is yours to lead. That said, we’re always happy to lend a hand when we can!

Definitely. Just let us know during booking and we’ll add $10 per child beyond the initial 15. We’ve hosted parties with 30+ kids and can help make sure you’ve got the space and flow to keep things smooth.

We offer several party slots between 10:00am and 6:00pm. When you submit your booking form, you’ll be able to choose your preferred time and an alternate, just in case.

The farm is fun, messy, and outdoorsy—closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothes are best. Layers, sun hats, or rain boots (depending on the season) are always a good idea.

We offer a few options—please note our shared space events mean you will be sharing the farm with another event. If you’d like the farm to yourselves, we recommend scheduling a Private Party.
